Hey everyone, I’m Sam (Scott’s son) and it’s an honor to be the guest writer for this week’s Monday Morning Mojo!
I’m no literary genius like my dad so bear with me as I try my best to inspire you all for the week.
My parents used to run bedtime stories a little differently than most. Instead of reading us a story every night, they’d sometimes share creative ads, public relations and marketing campaigns that they thought were creative, funny and inspirational.
Spoken like the son of someone who runs an agency, I believe great ads are truly an incredible medium to inspire and fill us up with hope.
Olympic and Sports Ads
As the Olympics are underway, I wanted to share some of my favorite Olympics/Sports related advertisements:
This is probably one of my favorite ads featuring the greatest Olympian of all time:
P&G’s “Thank you Mom” campaign brings out the most waterworks and highlights all the sacrifice it takes to be an Olympian’s mom.
As we are on the topic of sports, here is my favorite adidas ad of all time featuring the great Derrick Rose:
The Olympics is truly a magical event that brings people together from every country, and I’m excited for three weeks of positivity and unity that come with the Olympics in a world that is getting more and more divided.
Movies & Batman
On a completely separate note, I’ve rewatched Christopher Nolan’s Batman Trilogy this week for the 10th time and always find these movies fill me up with inspiration.
So to cap off this week’s MMM, here are some of my favorite quotes from the trilogy:
“It’s not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me.”
“A hero can be anyone. Even a man doing something as simple and reassuring as putting a coat around a young boy’s shoulders to let him know the world hadn’t ended.”
“Why do we fall, sir? So that we can learn to pick ourselves back up.”
“Training is nothing, will is everything.”
Thanks for reading and I hope you all have an amazing inspiration-filled week.
awesome job inspiring
Once again, from Scott’s daughter to Scott’s son, the writing keeps getting better and better! Love the picture from Beijing 2008…great memories.
Love you brother.
Sam-I-Am – you brought out my tears and inspired my spirit. Well done!
Your Dad’s MMM is a bit of a ringside seat watching you and your wonderful family come and go here there and everywhere reuniting with family and friends. But, in this case, I’m so pleased to have this one on one with you and your ad choices. Your favorite is also my favorite. The others, however, held my interest from beginning to end. Very nice to meet you, Sam.
Well done, Sam!
Sam, tears were brought to my eyes as I read this masterpiece. Look at Sam man, so inspirational !
Well done Sam…don’t think I saw any of those ads on Peacock in USA….so great that you shared them with us!
